He recently held several concerts in China (Shanghai, Zhengzhou, Hangzhou, Xiamen, Nanning, Ningbo), where he will return soon for a tour in major cities and Universities, from which it was awarded the title of honorary professor (Kunming-Yunnan University). In 2013 he gave a recital as part of the "Sound Ways", XXV International New Music Festival in St. Petersburg (Russia). In 2014, with the cellist Emilia Baranowska, he recorded for Radio Vaticana works by L. van Beethoven and Sergio Calligaris.

Always devoted to teaching, and after further professional improvements as a student of Maestro Fausto Zadra, Marco Giovanetti was his assistant teacher at the International Piano School in Lausanne (Switzerland) from 1989 to 1992.

In the field of the modern and contemporary repertoire he made radio and TV recordings for the Italian Radio Company RAI and performed unreleased works of prominent composers. In 1984 he won the “Cata ed Ernesto Monti” competition for the performance of modern music in Trieste. Today, his repertoire ranges from J.S. Bach to contemporary composers like Ligeti, Schnittke and Denisov.

Thanks to his classical studies, he has always cultivated the study of philosophy and history of art. Trips, human experiences, relationship with the audience of concerts and with students of different backgrounds and cultures led him to cultivate and deepen the knowledge of various disciplines, including lately the Chinese language. The same goal of broadening of cultural horizons also inspired his creation of a cycle of meetings titled "Il Suono e il Tempo", founded in Bergamo in 1992 and soon replicated and expanded in Italy and in Argentina.

Marco Giovanetti holds a Professorship for piano at the Gaetano Donizetti High School of Music of Bergamo, where he has been director from 1997 to 2012.
